V12 Fuel injector plug types

Hi,
Considering building my own V12 ignition harness for my 88. Understand that non-quick release injector plugs fit any V12, whereas the quick-release type only fit later V12's.
Can anyone kindly clarify details a little regarding production years and reason?

You ned this type EV1 with the half moon cutout, or they will not fit.

I think the Junior Power Timer - Connector 282190-1 or Tyco 282190-1 is the same as Bosch EV1, can fit to 5.3l injectors.
