Hi guys.
Just a quick question before I install these. Just have 2 new genuine Jaguar thermostats arrive part no EBC3577 from David Manners. They both check out fine following Grants advice on his write up. I was however wondering about the bleed hole in these new ones which as in the picture have a ball bearing instead of the jiggle pins as in the old thermostats I have removed. Do you guys think these will be ok or should I remove them and just leave the hole.
Rob.
Ha ha young I wish. But yep I do use metric. 1/8” is 3.175mm. Looks like my hole is slightly bigger at 3.8mm or 5/32” had to use an online calculator ha ha. This looks smaller than the hole with the jiggle pin on the old thermostats. Will this be ok?
Rob.
Bugger. Right story so far. Put system back together without thermostats because I want to flush the system out. Filled her up went to start engine started revel straight to 2000rpm turned of tried a few times got then got the revs going up and down. I can’t see any vac hoses disconnected was running absolutely fine before the coolant drain. Any ideas.

Ok I’m a ****. Put the air boxes on and thought I would save time as I am going to remove them again tomorrow and only fitted them with 2 bolts in each instead of the four. What an absolute pillock. All sorted now running fine.
Rob the **** ha ha. 🤣
Ha ha. I have a black Labrador and as this was around 8pm last night she was fast asleep so no help there. Beer is always good though. I’m going to start a new thread in a little while. It will be a bit controversial so I hope you guys don’t hate me.
Rob.
Hi Grant. Thanks for your kind comments. You are so right about being a long time dead and the need to enjoy yourself. My sense of humour been noted before and I make no apologies for it. I’m quite happy to laugh at myself and not be bothered what people think.
Im a manager in a large agricultural buying office and it’s a job I love doing but it can be a rather commercial place to work. My son and son in law also work here. I was at my son in laws on Saturday and we were laughing about how different I am out of work. That day I had been sitting in the paddling pool drinking beer with the grand children then I had the lovely job of unblocking the toilet which I did in my pants. He said if only people in the office could see you.
All good fun mate.
Rob.
