One of the largest complaints, problems with the XJS V12- engine compartment is excess heat. Especially in the " Dead Mans Valley " ! The last last thing you want to do is keep the heat in to fry everything quicker. Spend the $'s getting air into the compartment, and the wiring up off the valley floor. lots of ways of cleaning up the appearance of this V12 without adding a plastic cover.

The look is a bit BMW E38 V8 / V12 ish, but the Jag engine bay needs it. It's an ugly (if awe-inspiring) mess in there without the covers.
