Default Vac lines

Hi guys. Quick question if you would be so kind. The 2 vaccines in the picture should they hold vacuum. Mine don’t but haven’t tried with the ignition on or the engine running.

Depends
One is the vac source for the full throttle enrichment and something else and the other looks like an HVAC line. Sucking on them will not prove anything. But worth tracing that black/white stripe tube that goes out of shot to see if it is disconnected.
Does the throttle enrichment valve work, do the HVAC flaps work is the question. You can test the FTEV with a Mityvac pump, ignition on. It should be open at vac (ie closed throttle thus not passing current) and close to make the circuit and thus instruct the ECU to enrich the mixture as vac disappears. from memory it should close at 4 Hg.

Hi Greg.

As always thanks for your help with my questions. HEVC all works fine and the valve works as should as I had it apart last year and cleaned and reset it. There is a T in that line with one way to the valve and the other way I’m not sure. My cars is in bits at the moment as been replacing fuel and injector hoses. Also had the cam covers off to replace the gaskets and had them powder coated at the same time. I’m now putting it all back together. I will see if I can see where that hose goes and go from there.

Rob.

I am pretty sure that the T off the FTEV line goes to either the heater valve or to the heater/aircon vac reservoir. It is easy to trace it.

All sorted🤣 hose at the T had gone hard and so had the joiner on the red pipe. All replaced and vacuum is now holding fine.

Good find Robbo. It would be worth checking the gearbox modulator to A bank inlet manifold end spigot vac line. This is best replaced with silicone vac line and also replace the right angled rubber piece on the modulator and its plastic joiner.

That one checked out fine with my vac pump. No loss of vacuum at all there.
