Default Water pipe inlet corrosion

Going through piece by piece and fixing all the old rubber on this '90 xjs, I have a water pump and all the new hoses incoming, and started my disassembly for water pipe replacement. (going stainless) However, before I could even get that far, the short hose on the drivers side came off in my hand! you can see where that goes into the thermostat housing and it's completely rusted out. I can't find a part for it anywhere on the internet, what's my solution here? The water pipe itself is getting replaced, as is the crossover filler neck tube, but I'm unsure what to do here. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Are we all on the same page? I think what we're talking about is item #6 in this illustration....

https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.../brand/jaguar/

........which is an aluminum casting with a steel hose nipple pressed-in. These steel nipples fall out all the time....here and at other locations around the engine. I clean the parts to shiny metal, apply some JB Weld, and tap the nipples back into place.

First cuppa coffee disclosure

Here's another pic of what I think we're talking about, showing the pipe nipple

If there isn't enough left of the steel nipple to work with I just gotta think something could be scrounged-up from the plumbing section local home improvement store or some such

Or Google "Steel cooling hose nipple" and do some shopping

I wanna say it's a 1" nipple but can't swear to it

Yup that's the steel press fit that connects to cross over pipe. I think i'd just get a 2nd hand one - as linked above they aren't expensive & you don't want that failing in use - you'd instantly lose all the coolant in the head & probably kill it.

One thing to be aware of, illustrated in Doug's image above- there are obviously a couple of variants of this assembly according to what small water connections it has. The one Doug's posted has 2 small nipples on top at right angles to one another (not sure what the 2nd one connects to) . Mine (1989 UK) only has one, connected to the rad bleed pipe.

The Jaguar link lists different part number options for 'non purge engine' so make sure it visually matches yours.

Also while you're there - sand/file smooth all the aluminium castings where the hoses clamp on to minimize future leaks. They were finished terribly on my car.
