XJS and XJ12 models with the "HE" engine...which was introduced mid-1981 calendar year.
The Series III HE XJ12s carried the Lucas CEI until the end of production in 1992
The XJS was fitted with Marelli ignition in place of the CEI beginning at VIN 156116 although different sources vary slightly on that. This was sometime in 1988 calendar year.
