Man, I’m wish this question was about the XJ12 Vanden Plas. The factory stereo demo tape has two “songs” that really match the car. The first is the opener, Carmina Burana. The closer is way more obscure... “Pageant” by Richard Harvey.

This is going to sound crazy, but the soundtrack to Conan the Barbarian is also Jaguar driving music.

Hi Jagsandmgs

Those two wonderful pieces of music and your XJ12 are plenty good enough to make the Cut, as I've heard them both on 'last night of the proms'

Great Song Andeas

In that MV. Joe Bonsall looks like Tom Jones

While Lee Golden looks a lot like Dusty Hill, in fact for just one little minute I thought that it was him!

When you say "Carmina Burana," I assume you mean the (over-) famous "Oh Four Tuna" part, and not the rest, I guess. I suppose it does fit in a way: Oh, fortune, like the moon, always waxing, always waning, never stable.... And there goes the stockmarket and I have to sell the Jag.

Thanks for introducing me to "Pageant." It's really nice.

Some of the Conan soundtrack, definitely. "Anvil of Crom"? Seems a bit bombastic for the XJS, which is an elegant cruiser. Yes, it has a powerful V12, but it's a very civilised, smooth V12. Or should be.... "Theology and Civilisation" is nice smooth high-speed driving music.

There's a recent thread here which discusses similar themes.

My selection probably remains unchanged: Ave Maria for Lady Mary.
Though the finale from Stravinsky's "Firebird" is very cool:

Here's the song for when you're thinking about buying an XJS:

Come to think of it, I think Zadok the Priest might be more appropriate than The Firebird. It is British, after all. The first, soft section would be the perfect music to a video of the V12 working, perhaps in cutaway so you could see all the parts moving in perfect harmony or something. Then you start driving through the mountains when the song bursts out.

I also rather like Coronation Music from "Victoria" - I actually used it as the soundtrack to a video of my car. This isn't that video, just the music.

I thought of a few, but the one I believe invokes the "Spirit" is I Can't Drive 55, by Sammy Hagar. As an XJS was never meant to go slow!

Or maybe the theme song from a Tv show called Hardcastle and McCormick, called, Drive!

#2 and dependant on the mood.

Frank Sinatra,

"I did it my way", substituting the "did" for "DO".

Then as a last poke,

Michael Buble,

Fly me to the Moon.

Not many Classical lovers here, are there?
(Either that, or you just don't think Classical music suits the Jaguar XJS....)

The Italian Job (Matt Monroe) 1969

Music by Quincy Jones

Lyrics By Don Black

In the Opening Credits Film Star Rossano Brazzi who Starred in South Pacific with Mitzi Gaynor can be seen driving the Lamborghini Miura

Just close your eyes and imagine that he's driving an XJS

Okay, let's see if this plays for everyone. Or anyone. I threw this together to illustrate how Zadok the Priest might go well with the XJS. Just using photos and video of my car that I already had, so it's a quick rush job.

Hi Someday

That Video was absolutely excellent! (including the Soundtrack)

Its not that I don't like Classical, its just that its not my favorite genre of music, although it really compliments your Road Trip Video

Classical is for the XJ sedans as they are stately and aloof.

But Not for the XJS. Were kinda like a Black Leather Jacket, on Royalty!!!
