Default What type of pulley/belt is used on 12 Cylinder car?

Does the 12 cylinder car (1990) use a "V" belt?

Thanks.

The 1990 XJS 5.3L V12 uses 3 "V' belts and 1 flat, ribbed belt.

All the early pre-facelift models did. Four of them! Later post-facelift models (about 1991/2 onwards I think) used the more modern flat belts with longitudinal ridges. But Jaguar being Jaguar, best to look at any particular car as there were no doubt anomalies.

I thought the belt set up stayed the same on all the XJS 's. The saloons went to serpentine.
Part number for water pump pulley is the same right through which would support that.

I am pretty sure that the later V12s had serpentine alternator belts, and I seem to remember they had serpentine belts on the aircon compressor. Could always be wrong of course!

Anyone out there with a late model year facelift V12?

Alternator went to flat sometime in the 80's I think (my '89 is flat) but the others stayed as separate V belts at least according to the parts book numbers for belt driven ancillaries.
