What's involved in radio swap in 1994 XJS
Been reading around but want to be sure before I get serious about it. What all is involved in swapping the stock radio for a modern aftermarket? Here's what I have so far:
- Cut the wiring to the radio to fit a modern block connector.
- Fabricating a mount for a standard single DIN unit.
Here's what I'm not sure about:
- any other cutting of the car (I want to be able to take it back to original possibly in the future).
- the Kirby Palm book describes a fuse somewhere than needs to be upped?
- depth issues with any stereos?
Here's what I would like:
Bluetooth and iPod connectivity built in
Maybe satellite radio
TIA,
Tony

I am not familiar with the 1994 car. I replaced mine last year and has been fine.
Just make sure you mount it securely including the rear mount so it does not bounce. Depth should not be an issue as most head units are standard mounting both width and depth. Be careful not crimp any wires, as you could short something to ground.
Don't know what fuse you are referring to. I check KP's manual and could not find reference to it in the stereo section, just check the stereo fuse in your car is rated the same as the one for your new head unit.
