What's the prettiest Jaguar production car?
Jaguars are good looking. But which one is best looking? I'm just curious as to opinions. Let's make it interesting tho...
E type clearly shines in the eyes of most because it is the sexiest car ever made. Now, had the E type never hit the street, which other regular series production Jag gets your vote? Pick any car, but limited production specials, race cars, and concepts are a bit obvious.

This thread will be longer than the "which oil is best..............". but waaaaay more laughs I reckon.
I am also partial to the MK10, particularly in todays traffic and excuses for parking spaces.
It COMMANDS respect in traffic, it will squash a Smart llike a bug, and parking is more like "abandon it" as it will not fit between the lines they paint for humans to use.
Then the sheer looks of the Whale (as it lovingly known) is really something to behold. Sweeping curves from any angle.

When Mr Ferrari himself states that the E-Type was the most beautiful car ever made, it's pretty much answered beyond doubt.
But as the original question stated what's the next best? - I'd have to say XJS and yes I'm biased. Like Mr Francis says, the pre facelift for me. (I actually love the look of the pre facelift rear end)
But having said that apart from the XJ-40 they're all like a stylists wet dream through decades.
Got to love the XJS Gentleman's Express though.

Coupé pre facelift but HE style... Gothic rear lights rule! I dare say, with the original oval headlights is best! The twins are okay but the ovals compliment the lines better than anything else

Signal Red, Biscuit top and interior, facelift XJS with large leaper on the front. Opalescent Silver Blue XKE coupe, with whitewalls. XF in Frost Blue with Ivory interior. BRG MK II sedan w/ wire wheels and red line 'Tiger Paws' tires.
Actually, the only UGLY Jag I can think of was the XKE 2+2

Two points:
1. A few years ago, I was driving my XJ wuzza six southbound on North Main here in Walnut Creek. Traffic stopped. Right in front of the Jaguar dealer. A of the latest offerings. And, on the lane to my left, wow. A shiny white E type with top downa nd flashing wires. Driven by a gent in a sporty straw hat, Hollywood hair cut and shades.
2. I've seen a short about an XK120 roadster. Driven by a gal dressed to the ines in the style of the time. Woops, temp guage way up. knowing lady steps out and opens the bonnet. Fan belt departed!!! Not a crisis for this gal. Sits and opens the clasp on her garter and removes a nylon. Whew.... A quick wrap around the pulleys and a knot and ready to go. As good as it gets...

Personally the HE XJS wins hands down, followed in the Jaguar lines by the XK. All the others you can keep!
Give me an 83 to 87 XJS in British Racing Green, star fish alloys and with a rear spoiler and no leaper and I'm a happy chappy! Mind you I wont be really happy until some serious motor and gearbox mods with exhaust alterations are done, then we are really happy.

I'm a fan of the marque so it's hard to choose. Depending on my mood, I'd go with:
1. Pre-facelift XJ-S coupe (possibly the most beautiful late 20th century GT, regardless of brand, IMO. I'm stupid about these cars.)
2. XJ6/12C (seriously lust after these)
3. Mk II/S-Type (original, not Ford)
4. XK150 coupe
5. XJ6 series III
There are other beautiful Jags (XKR, F-Type, XK120/140, Mark X, etc..) but those above are the ones that make my pulse quicken the most. The E-Type barely ranks, I'm afraid.
