considering a 1996 XJS but I don't like the wheels ( bright chrome). will wheels from earlier years fit either 15" or 16". I like the 5 spoke brushed aluminum I have seen but don't know if they were an option for '96'

 

As far as bolt pattern and center hub dimensions go I'd say that any XJS wheel will work on any XJS. As will many wheels from other Jag models thru the mid-90s

thanks. I just was wondering. haven't got it yet. going to check it out today. only 22,000 miles but due to age may need bushings and hoses. any other things I should be concerned about?

 

Key thing to look for: bolt pattern of 5x4.75" (5x120.65mm), offset of about +28.5mm (+/-5mm is fine). 15" or 16" are available, with a width of usually 6" to 7". Also, hubsize is important if aftermarket. Should be at least 73.85mm.

Look on eBay for wheels for the XJS or XJ6 from about '88 to '96. I found a set of "Teardrop" wheels cheap that I intend to refurbish and give a try.
