Where to sell an xj-s and for how much?
Well it has come time for me and my xj-s to part ways. I am going to school and it has become very impractical these days. My problem is that I have had it listed on Craigslist and eBay on and off for the past 5 months. It is an '87 with 73k miles. Mint interior and near brand new paint. I started listing it at $7200 and I'm down to $4000. I have over $5000 in receipts. No bites. Does $4000 sound reasonable for a car with the above description? Also has anyone had luck with selling through other venues?
Thanks

Unfortunately, it's a tough market right now for older cars with large engines and Jags have always been considered as money pits so that does not help the situation.
I've recently sold a couple of my old Mercedes Benz and have had to let them go for a lot less then they should have sold for. I've parted out some perfectly good cars for the simple reason that I could not get 1/2 my asking price.
If you really need to sell it, throw it on ebay with no reserve and start the bidding low. Hopefully it will bid up to where you want it to go.
Else hang on to it and enjoy it.
