Good afternoon,

I was working on several problems/issues in my XJS V12 engine compartment when I noticed several disconnected wires located in the front of the passenger side.

For example, there was a black wire coming off the part attached to the air cleaner (circled in green) that looked like it belonged to a yellow black wire (connection circled in red). Although there was another black wire coming from the part in green goes to a connection captured in the yellow rectangle.

There was another disconnected brown/tan wire that looked like it belonged to another brown/tan wire (connection circled in teal).

I connected these wires for illustrative purposes. I have looked at the wiring diagram and it looks like yellow/black wires are related to fuel injection. However, prior to disconnecting the battery for other work, the car ran perfectly, so I assume the wires are for something else.

The yellow/black and brown/tan wires (that were not connected originally) run along a harness near the radiator.

Any idea if I have these wires connected correctly? If not, any help on where they belong? Wiring is my weakest area, but I have studied the wiring to try to figure it out. No luck so far.

The item in question is the Extra Air Valve. It should have two black wires coming out....which are attached to a yellow/black wire and a brown/slate wire.

With age the "brown/slate" might look like "brown/tan" ?
