Default Would an XJS V12 with a 'Modified Exhaust' pass a UK MOT?

In a Hypothetical Situation, if I decided to remove the Middle 'Mufflers'/'Silencers' and reconnect the system using a Straight Pipe Kit, to the Rear 'Mufflers'/Silencers'

Would there be any problem passing a UK. MOT with that kind of a Modification, as it would effectively be, a Non-Standard Exhaust.

As something in the back of my mind, tells me it needs to be Standard.

No problem at all, just make sure you tell your insurer.

Good Point Steve

Insurance Companies could refuse to pay you out, if you haven't told them about any Mods.

Wow, UK insurors are fussier than ours. Or merely fuss differently, but fuss just the same. Had to "prove" my annual mileage with documents
that do0n't exist!!! Oil change, service invoice, Smog test.....

Helpful agent got it through. if it were a "direct writer", ouch, I would probably have to go shopping.

As to exhaust changes. I suspect wide variance between inspectors.
Fussy, or not notice or not care. As I understand MOT, if I do, safe cars are the reason for them. Exhaust changes nothing as to safety.
Other stuff, lights, brakes rotten main members, etc. Those sure do.

Hi Carl

Insurance Companies seem to be a law unto themselves and even a harmless 'Sticker' can count as a Modification and so I expect they would load it, for a 'Non Standard' Exhaust.

My premium hardly changed at all after telling them about the modified exhausts, air intakes and DB7 rear suspension.
They wanted to know how much the power increase was (no idea) but I said that it was mostly visual, aural and with better breathing; I'm pretty sure that any power hike still won't bring it up to anywhere near what it was when it was new.
