Default XJ-S New Shoes

Hey all,

Looking to install some new shoes for my XJ-S.

I have photo-shopped some Alloy Centerline Champ 500's onto a google image.

I think they suit quite well.

What do you guys think?

Cheers

Great looking Jag !

The wheels are a bit too 'hot rod' or 'muscle car' for a Jaguar, IMO

But the only one you need to please is yourself

Cheers

To be honest I was thinking the same thing a bit...

Maybe a bit too much muscle?

those look pretty good are they a 16" rim or are they still 15's?

imo nothing looks better on a xjs than the lattice alloys just sucks that tire choices are awful for 15 inch rims. and anything bigger than 17's start looking a bit "donk" on the xjs. the Coventry Whitley are the most agreeable aftermarket rims iv come across so far for the xjs..

They are 16" and I believe are 1995 y/m only..

These wheels made by Knowles Wilkins Engineering in W. Berkshire also look killer. Very pricey but I hope to splurge on 'em one day.

I agree with Doug a bit to muscle car.

I have 16x8 BBS. The other rims that look good on the XJS are the 17" XJR rims, I like them just very expensive here in Oz.

Another option is C4 Corvette rims, the 16 x 8.5, IIRC they need the centre bore opened slightly.

I think that the x spoke on the early 90's cars are very nice.

As 2 of my stock rims were destroyed in my accident, the donor car I purchased for the subframe came with the Allesio Nevada wheels.

They are going on the the car as it comes out of the frame shop this week.

Selecting new wheels is always tough. I would at least consider other Jaguar wheels as it makes finding the correct offset and hub bore diameter much easier, and there are several that look good on the XJS imo. But they may not really convey that muscle car look you may be going for.

First photo are the 16" 5 spoke alloy wheels that came on many XJS 94-96. Next 2 photos are the 17" XJR wheels from the 95-97 models. Then the 18" Asteriod from XJR circa 2001-03. And then the 16" 20-spokes that were on some late XJS and the XJ6 VDP 95-97. My choice would probably be the 5 spoke alloy or 17" XJR wheels.

The same topic has been discussed before. Have a look at this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ls-xjs-142094/
Might be worth starting a sticky thread on shoes/rims/wheel for our cars?
