xj12 or xjs
i'm looking for a manual for my 1986 xjs and it was a v12 but we put in 1974 camaro z28 engine... but i am just looking for a manual for my xjs i see manuals for the xj12 up to the date 1988 but mine is and xjs and on the same book it also include the year up to 1985 on the xjs model... would that be close enough to the 1986 for me to use it?

you'll probably be ok since for many repairs such as engine brakes steering suspension the xj12 information will be the same and there really isn't even much id any difference between 85 and 86 xjs
it sounds like you are considering a haynes or similar non-factory manual which covers most of the basics but they really are not that good as they tend to be overly condensed so it would really be better to just get the genuine jaguar manual which you can get in paper form or on a cd you can go the jaguar daimler heritage trust on the web or get them from the better jaguar parts vendors or even get them on ebay they are not hard to find
cheers

ya i actually did end up getting a haynes but at least for now i just need to do a little work on the body and thing about the jaguar ... but i did find a manual for the camaro engine that is in it... see right now i need to get it running i'm thinking i'm going to need new spark plugs, charged battery and a a few minor tweaks to the timing and some one put these wheels on that doesn't let it turn all the way so i need to get new wheels but i know where to find those things
and thanks for the help
