Y alarm has worked fine up until this evening when I pushed the lock button. The doors all locked and about 20 seconds later the car started making this beeping sound at a rate of about 1 beep per second. What has caused this mysterious new gremlin and how can I exorcise it?

It does happen sometimes for no reason Usually just pressing the button again will stop it.)

The SCM will do it by design if a locked and armed door is unlocked with the key instead of the button.

 

Just an update. I left the car parked with the alarm off and unlocked all night and this morning when I armed it it started beeping again. I started the car and went to put it in drive, but it wouldn't let me take it out of park. I turned the car off and re-started it. This time it let me put it in drive. I returned it to park and turned the car off. Problem solved. I don't know why but it has resolved itself.
