XJS Alarm / Security Module

XJS Alarm / Security Module
I own a 93 XJS coupe. The previous owner had removed the alarm security module (in right rear trunk) believing it to be the main cause for the battery to keep dying. A reading of the battery indicated the CCA was way below the standard. A new battery has been installed. Question is now, do I reinstalled the security module? The disadvantages of a lack of the remote and setting the alarm are obvious. What other issues should I be aware of if I don't reinstall it? I have the security code. The module was working when removed. The previous owner has "taken his last road trip" and is no longer. Thanks.. Mert

The box should fit in the rear right boot (trunk) side near the antenna, and fits to the screws that hold in the rear lights. It has one big connector and one small connector which connect to the connectors already in the boot. When all done the alarm will beep until you press the key fob. It will beep after that until you have either pressed more key fobs or one 4 more times.
The little battery box will be useless as they stopped making the battery years ago.
