Default XJS models

High all,
What the last year of the manufacture of the older XJS with the drum style engine instrument?
was it designated HE to the end of that design?
was the next model the 6lt?
did the instrument cluster change with the revised rear tail lights?

AFAIK the barrel gauges were replaced by round gauges as part of the big "face lift" during 1991 calendar year. One of the many face lift changes was the tail light design, yes. In the USA these would be 1992 model year cars....but model year designations get fuzzy in other parts of the world.

The engines had the "HE" style cylinder head right to the end. The "HE" designation was dropped circa 1987. Presumably Jaguar felt it was no longer an interesting or worthwhile marketing point.

The 6.0L engine came along in 1993-94 as I recall.

Cheers
DD

Yes, the instrument cluster changed as part of the MY1992 facelift, with the tail lights.
