How do I remove the Instrument Cluster on a 'Facelift' XJS
Only one job left to do on 'Carmen' my 1995 XJS 4.0L Convertible with AJ16 Engine
When I was changing Batteries, the Needle on the Speedo, suddenly flipped over to 150 Mph (which I have heard can happen) possible through an electrical 'Spike' ?
And have also been told that to fix it, you have to take the Instrument Binnacle out and then turn it upside down to get the needle to fall back to Zero
Now while I have taken the Binnacle out of my Pre-Facelift V12 which suddenly decided to pack up altogether, I've never yet taken the Binnacle out of a 'Facelift'
So was wondering if that procedure would be exactly the same, or whether there was anything unusual to watch out for?

Hi Steve
In the end I decided to 'Wing it' and have already started the job, where the procedure looks to be exactly the same as you would use for removing the Instrument Binnacle on a Pre-Facelift
I am going to detail it all with Photos on my 'Cherry Blossom' restoration thread
And I'm really hoping that when I take that Binnacle out, I can get the Speedo Needle to fall back to Zero

Hi Ezrider
Cheers!
I took out the Instrument Binnacle on my Pre-Facelift V12 in about 10 minutes, mind you it took me about 10 years to find out how to lower the Steering Wheel enough to pull it out
Until the 'Clever Cloggs' GF managed to do it in about 10 Seconds!
If you fancy a bit of a giggle, you can read the Full Story here along with the Pics
