Hi there would anyone know somewhere I could get an original pinstripe for an 1989 xjs.. I'm getting body work done and the shop can't find a pinstripe decal.. I'm based in Ireland.

Scott,
It really depends which colours were your stripes and which sections you need. Some of the colours for some of the panels are still available from Jaguar. Start by going to the Jaguar Parts website and checking.

Watch out with the ones you can get on ebay - the one I was about to buy that claimed to be an exact replica of the late 1980s thin quicksilver/red stripe wasn't correct - the design of the bit at the very front of the front wings was not the same as the OEM.
Ya im not a huge fan but want to keep the car as original as possible

No I didn't, sorry.
I did (mistakenly) buy those sections for each front wing from Jaguar Classic in the Pewter (AKA dark grey)/red colour, as that's what I thought I had.
I doubt they're in stock anymore as they were end of life years ago.
Unfortunately the quicksilver/red were NLA.
I still have the pewter/red unused in the Jaguar boxes & my plan was to send them off to a printers so they could copy the shape exactly & remake in quicksilver/red.
The pinstripe in all the other sections of the car is simple tape that can be made to correct thicknesses and cut to length/shape; its only those front wing sections with the design that swoops downwards that are the issue.
