Louvres look good.
I'm kind of secretly hoping that the bonnet won't close on my car when I am at that stage, so I can put in some cool bonnet blisters. Little custom touches make a car special.

I like almost everything you have done on your car so far but I have to admit that the louvers are not my favorite.

I think I prefer this style a bit more;

I also like those more. But alas, i was restricted to 3", 4" and 5" and two rows of 3" was best look.

I hope I don't regret the stagger of the rows, goal was to mimic the curve of hood in front and rear edges since two even rows, centered where they are, would form a shape that is angled as compared to the hood.

Have to wait for paint to see the final product-only a few weeks until paint!!

I like the stagger Andy, being that your are doing a darker color, they will be a detail you won't notice on first glance, which are my fav kinda details..

Mark's look more E-Type, which also aren't bad. God knows they are functional..

Default Bumper modifications!

Bumperettes from an XJ6 added, required some welding and grinding but they hide the seams in the bumper. And add a 60's touch

I should also add that after getting a quote of $3000 for chroming the bumpers ($750 each for stock front and rear bumper, and these bumpers are double the size of stock) I decided to try out a special paint called hyper silver from motostorm Hypersilver | Polished metal liquid metallic spray paint | Motostorm.

pics soon.

Default Seat covers ordered

Simultaneous to the exterior I've also been working on the interior. Because my entire interior is poor condition and in need of replacement I have the opportunity to change the interior color. Because I can change the interior color I have decided to change the exterior color.

Interior will be brown leather with off-white stitching, with seat covers having perforated inserts. Exterior will be Old English White, or Pepper White, which is a Mini Cooper color that is apparently a substitute for Old English White.

I've always liked white cars and LOVE a white exterior with brown interior.

Seat covers have been ordered from seatsshop.com. Here is a link to the page for XJS seat covers. https://www.seatsshop.com/genuine-le...ront-1178.html

They only have the fronts listed on website. They asked me to send in stock rear cover as a pattern. I will report back with pics when they arrive.

They don't have stock Jaguar colors and so this would only be an option for someone changing entire interior, or a black interior (assuming their black is similar to most blacks). Still, the colors they have might be a close match to stock interiors so you might take a look.

Oh, did I mention the price? $650 for front and rear. (also bought 48 sq ft of hide for door panels).

We'll see....

Andy,

I happen to have a set of S3 XJ6 seats that are done in magnolia (dark red) leather. They are perfect, recent re-do's and are in great shape. The seats will be too tall (don't remeber by how much), but I'm sure you could lower them and make them fit / the backrests will work fine (will be thicker but unless you'll be carrying people in the back, may not be an issue), the base is just taller.

Red would looks fantastic with the cream!!! I have $1,500.00 into the pair, but would let them go for half of that (or maybe we make a trade for something??). Shipping will be pricey, as I am in Denver.

When I saw the car in the cream primer, I was going to suggest something similar as the colour, but thought you had decided on a BMW colour.
I had an Alfa which was a nice, really nice, off white/ cream colour:

Loving this project, and quite impressed with how quickly you are making progress.

On the louver idea, wouldn't it make a lot of sense to have them directly above "Death Valley" (the Vee where so much heat damage occurs), not just on the sides?

Thanks! Louver placement was partially dictated by the bracing of the hood. They are almost, almost, directly above the exhaust manifolds which I'm hoping helps direct the heat straight out.

I can't remember if there is bracing where the "v" is but I would think that would work also.

If the covers I ordered turn out to be sh*t then you're on!

Do you remember the paint code or name of Alfa color? You know, if you painted that color, that off-white is incredibly hard to get right. Too yellow, too brown, a lot of ways to screw it up. But man, when it's right, it is gorgeous!
