XJS12 and XJ12 differences.
Does the 1996-97 XJ12 have different, improved engine management or ignition changes over the 1994-96 XJS models? I have a 1993 4.0 XJS and have been looking at the XJ6-XJ12 models especially the Vanden Plas. The long wheelbase XJ12 looks like the ultimate cruiser but a little harder to find.

Not real sure of your market.
Having never seen one, this is from memory from a Parts Managers point of view.
My understanding when at Jaguar at that time, is the X300 XJ12, and Daimler versions were all Nippon Denso engine management, and were distributorless?.
The XJ-S 6ltr you mention still ran the Marelli system, although I believe, much sorted from the 1989 etc 5.3 cars.
The X300 XJ12 would be my pick by a very long measure, but with only 9 ever coming down here, the chances are slim.
The engine mechanicals are the same. It was the engine management that was the big difference.
Someone that has seen one up close, or better still, owned one (lucky individual), may chime in with better, and/or more accurate info than what I remember from a pats department point of view.
