Default ZF Transmission Filter

It turns out I have a ZF transmission. All this time I thought it was a GM 400. Anyway. I am replacing the filter on a ZF for my 1994 Jaguar xjs. The new filter I received does not have a pick up tube. is this going to matter? The old one has a pick up tube. I live in SF where there are a lot of hills so Im a little concerned about not having a filter that reaches to the bottom of the pan...

I ordered the filter from partgeeks where they state the trans filter without the pick up filter is the one for my car 1994 4.0 Jaguar xjs 2+2

I thought the 88/89 4HP22 and the XJ-S 4.0 4HP24 used the shallow pan and filter/screen without the pick-up tube.
The 4.0 Sedans with 4HP24 use the deeper pans and the extension on the filter.

Maybe some installed the wrong one???
Maybe you have a replacement deep pan???
Maybe you have a sedan gearbox???
