Default 07 XK front end

Hey everyone sorry for the lack of introduction before this post. I recently acquired a 07 XK that had front end damage to just about every panel, the hood, fenders, and bumper. Since everything will be replaced I was thinking instead of going back to stock it would be a good chance to upgrade it a little.

The hood will mostly remain stock, the XKR-S GT hood is a little too much and Im not sure if it will even fit a 2007 which leads to the next question...

Will 2012+ fenders fit on the 2007?

Im a fan of aston martins, but I am not a fan into making a car look like another car but these front bumpers strike my attention. Now I know in the end the choice is mine alone but I am stuck on both and would like to hear some input on what everyone else thinks.

Welcome to the forum! You can count on some great advice on that particular upgrade from the folks here... Sounds like a fun project!

Yes they will and you do not have to get a specific model year hood the earlier one is the same

Forgot to mention the plug for the head lights is the same but you will have to play with the wires

Nice that is good news. Now to decide to go the 2012 route or the pre 12 path with one of the bumpers above. If I go 12+ the only decent front bumper I found was the xkr bumper.

Personally I wouldn't do either but that's because it looks a little "too Aston" for me but there are a few choices, I do have a special Jaguar kit for the 2010/11 XK, you will have to have that year front but this kit is OE and finding a picture of it is very hard, it is along the lines of the previous XK60 kit but as the 2010/11 was the run out year before Jaguar face lifted to the new shape it was produced on very limited numbers.

I do know a company that can supply all of the 2012 parts but they are UK based so shipping will be a killer....

I'd leave it stock instead of opening a can of worms that could spiral in cost.

I do like the lines of the AM (but not the parts/service costs) and the front end on the left looks great but down the road you would not get any trade in or sale value for it. If you want it as a keeper then go for it and don't look back. My 2 cents

The XK gets mistaken for an Aston Martin all the time--why not take it up a notch?

Once I was in the McDonald's drive thru (I know, I eat there...) and the guy told me, you know, they're using the same grille on the Ford Fusion??? Clearly he thought I was driving an Aston!

I like the looks of both variations but, would likely prefer the green one.

As others have warned, do it only if you are not concerned about resale values. Now, that may be minimized by the fact that it is an '07 and you probably obtained it for very little, given the crashed state of the car. So, it could be quite a feasible option for you to make it into something very special.

Good luck with the project and post some pictures when done,

Albert

Resale value would take a big hit anyways due to the salvage title. Even if rebuilt complete stock no one would ever wanna pay what it would be worth with a clean title.
