Default 07 XK nav system DVD

so trying to find out why my Denso 2010-2011 DVD part # 464110-8490 (one of a two disc set from Navteq) a jaguar BG series. The disc that was in the car was an older version from Denso the disc read 2005 Navteq and 2006 Denso part # 464210-5601 it is a Jaguar BB series. Is there an update if so can a person obtain it or does one have to go to the dealer?

Go here and you can purchase a new set.

Default 07 XK Nav System DVD

The problem is that the new 2010-2011 two disc set that is referenced in the last message is what I purchased, it will not load. When I insert one of the discs a message on the screen tells me it needs to update to new software vOBAO or(0BA0) and will take 15 minutes but nothing happens. I bought them from Navteq for $199.00. When I contacted Navteq they tell me its Jaguars issue and to contact a Jag shop. Does not seem right.

You bring up a good point, I just bought a pre-owned 08 XK and was planning on buying the newer DVD's at some point in the future. Now I'll do it before my warranty expires in Nov so Jaguar can do any software updates if needed.

Have you contacted your "local" Jaguar dealer to find out if they can do this and for how much?

Tom

Have you tried loading the east coast disc to see if it will take the new software from it?? I've had to do that in the past, I just don't know whether it was a fluke that worked, or whether that really is the main disc. If you ever get a blank white screen or white screen saying "Software Downloading", just sit tight, it may take a while.

Cheers,

Let's give this a try and see if we get anywhere. Put a battery charger on it first to make sure we don't have any voltage problems.
Do these things in exactly this order.
Turn the ignition on, go to the home screen and select Navigation. Stop at the caution screen and don't acknowledge with the Agree Button, just leave it on that screen.
Go to the NAV unit and insert the new NAV disc, and make sure you slide the switch back to Locked. Wait for the update screen as in picture labeled Step 1, press continue.
Here's where the difference comes in.
It may go to the logo screen for a few seconds and then seem to go back to the Home Screen. Check the Navigation button, I think it will be grayed out as in pic Step 2. Don't touch anything. Sit and wait.
After 8 or 9 minutes the Navigation button should come back, as in Step 3.
Key the car off for a couple of minutes and start her up. Access the Navigation and try it out, you should be good to go.

Try that and let us know how it goes.

Good luck!

Thank you for all the help and info. Unfortunately I am not with the car at the moment, and will not be for some time, possibly not till the May long weekend. I will update as soon as I see the car. Maybe the car misses me and acts out when I am gone for so long.

Default I just purchased...

I just purchased the 2010-11 disc set for my 07. I should get them Friday.

Is this software update only done from the discs themselves, or can it be done by the dealer independent of the new discs? I ask because I have to go by the dealer this afternoon.

I will follow xjrguy's scenario and hopefully all will be well.

Default Worked like a charm...

New discs updated software - went smoothly.

While I did not get the screens that xjrguy has posted, it did update and worked fine.

RSCULTHO:

I may have access to a set of 2010-2011 update discs for a 2006 XJ.

I have a 2007 XK which needs an update. Wondering if this may be same disc. Could you give me serial number on your new discs? Should be on both CD's and the CD case so you don't have to bother removing the one you have in your car. Thanks !!!

Default Did the 2007 XK come with two Discs?

I just purchased a nice pre-owned 2007 XK in Atlanta. I live in Texas. Image my surprise once I arrived and found Texas maps are not on the DVD. Is there another DVD stored somewhere in the car?

Thanks,

Boiler

There should be a DVD movie-like case that has a second DVD. The case holds two, and stores the one you're not using. If you didn't get the second DVD, I'd call the selling dealer and see if they won't make good on it.
