Default 07 XK seems to be lacking power

2007 XK 99k

From a dead stop it seems like when you press on the gas it's not full power. The best way I can describe it is that it seems like it gets choked for air at times and pulls back. I have no codes and other than that it's driving great.

I experienced a loss of power that was caused by a clogged catalytic converter, but the CEL lit up. It was replaced by the dealer under warranty.

After 12 years and 99k miles a lot of things can go wrong. Hoses dry out and crack causing vacuum leaks, parts such as spark plugs and filters need replacing, electronic glitches happen. You can try to fix it yourself by trial and error, or save time and unnecessary expenses by having your XK diagnosed by a competent Jaguar technician with all the necessary equipment.

Your car, your money, your choice. Good luck and let us know the cause.

How do I check the cats? I've had clogged up Cats on my wife's old SType but it had very restricted performance plus CEL blinking as well.

Cel lights don't always get triggered with a bat cat

Try hitting the cat with a broom stick/ piece of wood does the cat rattle ??

Unsure how good the scanner is that you have but another way is to check the temp at the pre and post cat at the o2 sensor

If temps are vastly different then your cat is blocked and a throw away
