Default New from VA ...Hello

Hey Guys....I'm new to the forum looks like the go to place for anything Jaguar related....I just purchased a 2007 XKR red convertible with 24300 miles on It , flew out to Chicago to pick It up and drove It back to VA about 900 miles give or take , Car drove great a true GT . The only problem I had was when It was In cruise control and It sensed another vehicle It would slow down like It should , but then It would drop out of cruise and a error would flash on the dash saying "Laser censor blocked" It wouldn't go back Into cruise until I restarted the engine . Im guessing the censor Is somewhere In the front bumper so I checked for anything that might be blocking the signal , nothing obvious , so any thoughts and or comments on the problem would be appreciated . Apart from that the car was flawless .

Thanks.........

Welcome!

Sounds like you have adaptive cruise control, which is not a common option.

It says not to use it in low visibility, fog, rain or snow.

Welcome from another VA XK owner. Not sure about the adaptive cruise, mine doesn't have it. Post some pics!

Adaptive Cruise Control is easily identified by two rotary controls on the right side of the steering wheel. X150 models without ACC have only one rotary control. Here's mine with ACC:

Great color and it looks brand new, including the paint, wheels and top. Enjoy!

For the ACC warning alert, check to see if you have a clear bra installed. This can interfere with the ACC. My ACC get s the error alert message sometimes when there is rain or if you have tons of bugs on the front end. Never happened before the clear bra.

By the way, nice XKR. I noticed that one for sale in Chicago. Looks like an excellent example. Welcome and congratulations!

As far as mods go I think maybe an aftermarket exhaust ...Apart from that I don't think the Jag needs anything ells , or am I missing something ? .

Spacers 15mm rear 20mm front, lowering springs 25mm. Now it will look perfect! :-)
