My left side LED backup light seems to have come loose from the housing..... I can hear it rattle around when I open/close the trunk.
Is there an easy way to access this or am I headed to Mr Dealer?

Scott, the left side has a fog light (red) instead of back up light (white). Our cars only have one back up light on the right. I can't imagine what is loose and rattling around but pulling the soft cover off the trunk lid is an easy job.

 

It could be one of the nuts holding the spoiler which came loose and is rattling in the boot enclosure. I believe it was a known problem ... I had it myself. Lived with it

 

If your reversing light still works it's unlikely to be that, my advise would be to place everything on the back or passenger seats to save you opening/closing your trunk

The reverse light works, the fog light works, and the rattle seems to have wedeged itself where I don't hear it anymore. So, after a good wash and polish today i am going to attribute my new found serenity to your good advice!

 

While installing my backup camera, I dropped a nut in there and couldn’t retrieve it. Rattled around on opening and closing the trunk/boot, until like you, it lodged itself somewhere and has been quite for a few years now.
