Default 13 XKR-S going into storage... what to do about the Battery?

I have finally..FINALLY found a nice place to "store" my XKR-S. It will be sitting next to vintage cars of all makes. They do NOT allow tenders. Least not ones you plug into a wall. What does everyone think I should do? Unhook the battery and just let the whole car sit there dead? OR... maybe purchase a Jackery Power Station for the house and in the meantime take it over and hook the CTEK up to the power station and charge it that way... Both Jackery and Ctek are spark free...shouldnt be any issue catching the car on fire I wouldn't think. Anyone got any experience with any of this stuff? I don't think that AGM battery will last November till May just sitting there.... Ideas?

Are there any light sources involved? A solar charger/maintainer would work. OR, do what I used to do when I had an actual winter... remove the battery and check on it every couple months and top off as necessary.

Yep, that is what I would do.
Take the battery out of the car, take it home and chuck the CTEK on it once a month or so, that is what I did with the new battery I bought for the F-Type some four years ago before I finally fitted it.
Just make sure you don't shut the hatch/boot/trunk after you have removed the battery, maybe plop a cloth or piece of cardboard etc over the latch so it can't shut. And tell the people at the storage facility so they don't go "hmmm the trunk is open I better shut it or the battery will go flat". Maybe stick a sign nearby?
Then when you decide to refit the battery give it a full charge the night before.

Hey Lothar, remove it from the car and put it on a maintainer. Your car will be fine without the battery. You may have to reset the windows and other stored settings in the spring. How's the old clunker holding up, lol? Still have the XKR?

My XKR with only 22,000 miles still puts a smile on my face, but not as big as when I first got it. So, I almost bought a new Mclaren 720S Friday. After I researched the car for 1 day and called back to negotiate a deal it was sold. It was a 2021, with great options and only 280 miles on it. Yes, 280 miles which is why I was particularly interested in it and felt compelled to research it.

127,000 miles on my XKR….5200 on the XKR-S. Storage was done so I could make room for an Ftype… going for the v6 first 🤪

Anyone ever used a power station to plug in a CTEK to hook up to the car battery?! Just wondering if it would work?

I regularly disconnect my battery from my XKR for long periods, and it creates no problems except that you need to enter the code for the radio when you reconnect. Car fires up first time, no trickle charger involved. Probably a good idea to ensure the battery is well charged before storing the car.

Your XKR is a completely different car (X100), but a battery disconnect wouldn't hurt anything. No radio code for our cars though.
