Was the food worth the fuel?

Buc-ee’s boasts having the “Cleanest Restrooms in America,” which is a major draw for travelers. Each stall is a private, walled-off grotto, ensuring complete privacy and comfort.

700 miles is a long time to hold on.

Default A Lap of France

My 2007 XK (143,000 miles) has just happily completed a tour of France. 2354 miles over six driving days. Dieppe, Loire valley, Geneva (for CERN), Mediterranean coast, Carcassonne, Amboise, D Day beaches and home to UK. Oh, one problem………had to replace a brake light bulb when I got home!
They’m great touring cars. 😊

I took my convertible XK8 with my two young sons in the back to see the D-Day beaches over 20 years ago. It was summer so when we turned up at the closest campsite we saw to Arromanches and asked at the reception, in my poor French, if we could pitch our tent, the old manager replied that the site was full and we would have to try a bit further out of town. I thanked him and left but he decided to stretch his legs and followed me out. He then spotted the Jaguar and asked if it was mine. I replied that it was and he said that it was beautiful and he could always find space for a Jaguar ..... and he put us on patch of grass in front of the reception which I don't think was actually an official pitch.
