150 XK bluetooth cell phone music
I have been trying to find the other post about this but I have been unsuccessful. I wanted to post this as it is important to Jag 150 music lovers.
I have a 2007 XK Convertible and wanted to play my IPhone 6 plus music through my car speaker system. I got a local quote of around $500 to accomplish this task which involved removing the radio and hard wiring a component.
I saw a posting (somewhere) about the CHGeek Bluetooth FM Transmitter with Dual USB Ports. It's only about $20. It's a rather simple procedure to getting it to work. All you do is:
1) Plug it into a power outlet (cigarette lighter)
2) Pair the Transmitter with your phone
3) Turn your transmitter to an FM station and match that station on your car radio. Done
There are other things you can do which are explained in the Users Guide. I only use it for playing music. I am posting pictures in this posting as well as a copy of their User Guide.

Another option is to buy an old ipod from Ebay, I got one for $40.00 download your songs from itunes to the ipod and leave it plugged into the ipod cable that comes with the car. Keeps the ipod charged and sounds as it should. When you download new songs to your phone or Ipad, they will sync automatically to the ipod when within wifi range.

In my car it generally starts with what it was last playing with the USB.
The I-pod is the one that has a stuck first song sometimes, but I'm taking it in and out. The USB I pretty much leave.
I'm the kind of person that can put an album on repeat though, which is I think rare. I also use the song repeat button too.

I use an ancient iPod Nano 5 (?) that I dedicated to music use only because it works with the steering wheel controls to change tracks and volume and displays on the infotainment screen. Integrated IPod connectivity became standard beginning with the 2009 model year (4.2L), but could be retrofitted to earlier years with the Audio Connectivity Module, a dealer-installed accessorry. I have no need for Bluetooth music because my iPod does it all. I have it connected with a Schosche adapter that enables it to simultaneously play and charge. It resides in the center arm rest.

I bought a Roidmi Bluetooth to FM transmitter for $25.00 (cut n paste below). Works great! I took the fuse out of the power antenna (behind the rear middle seat divider <fuse F4>) cuz the extended antenna looks ridiculous. It limits the weak signal interference and sounds great! Only the strong signals come in. But I use my iTunes app on my iPhone 6s almost elusively.

It'd be like running that sweet 5.0 V8 on leaded petroleum w/ twigs and dirt mixed in. You're better off loading up a USB stick to live in the center console. Plus the system will show what song is playing if your files are tagged properly.

On my 2009, if I do not change the source, it will start playback from last point of use.
If I change the source away from USB, then go back to USB, it will play the first song of the first artist of the first album when swapped to USB from another source, such as CD, radio, i-pod, etc.
So in my case, the first band on my USB by alphabetical order is After Forever, first album by that band in alphabetical order is a self titled album, and the first song(by track number) then gets played.
I supposed I could use this knowledge to my advantage, by creating a file with artist/album/song data that would want to be there if I hit the USB source from another source.

What I used in X300 with its stone age radio....

Super easy to wire up. Basically if you can get to the back of the radio and locate a switched positive wire you are done.

Good point. Im sure it's possible in an app but probably not much motivation to create one. If I were capable I would do it!

Don't go through a low quality FM transmitter use a Bovee1000 with direct connection through the ipod port in the console--no degradation in quality. There are a few members working on android box connections to upgrade the infortainment system. Rhy's Morgan's is working on implementing this through using software to stiff out all of the necessary codes from the CANBUS and communication channels. The other way is a work around through a GVIF device. Either way once successful this will update the infortainment system to everything an android box has to offer including bluetooth streaming.
