Default 1st drive of the new year

Well I bit the bullet today and took the car out for a drive. It's been in suspension for maybe 3 or 4 weeks so the roads were pretty clear and the temp was 30* and sunny. I plugged in my BT dongle and turned on the torque pro as I started my drive. Checked all fluids prior to starting up and all looked well. Car stays in an unheated garage which usually doesn't go below 40*. Drove various roads from 30mph to 70mph and stayed out for an hour. Stopped on the way home to top off the tank. Water temp ran constant 195-199* and battery stayed within the normal range from 12.6v to 14.5v depending on power need with these modulated alternators. Car drove/handles as expected and the torque just snaps you back in the seat. Was a fun outing and hopefully I'll be out again when the next snow melts and the roads clear up a bit. Have fun and drive'em when you can. Life is short.

You're lucky. I've had to do snow removal four of the last eight days. Nine inches, then seven, then eight inches and another six today. It wouldn't be so bad, but I own a bunch of income property that I also need to keep clear.
The kitty stays in the garage unless the roads have been totally clear dry for several days, so it doesn't look very hopeful for me for the time being.

We were expecting a dusting and got it today. Just about an inch so no big deal buy it will keep me off the road until it dries up. Don't know if it will go away or if it is the beginning of our snow season. So here it is in it's resting position but because I might drive it again I kept the cover off.

I got out for a drive to Ashville from Charlotte on New Years Day. It rained all the way there and back. Oh well it was nice to get out.

OK 2nd drive of the year today. Weather was 30* and sunny with no water and maybe 10% of salt and sand left on the roads. Car has been down for a month so I did my usual checks and pulled the umbilical cord and lit it up. Only did 45 min. ride and about 35 miles but warmed it up and put it through all of the electrical functions just to make sure all was well. Rolling start run on the local parkway zipped through the numbers lighting fast but it was short lived as I didn't want to hit triple digits. Brought it back home and put it on the lift and plugged it in for another who knows long rest. See ya next month.

On the bright side Cee Jay, looks like your drought is ending. Jagtoes, we'd need a heck of a lot of rain to wash the salt from the roads up here. Here's to hoping for an early Spring.
