Yes, I needed the dealer to activate it. They weren't familiar with the ACM or what to do. I provided the ACM part number and details, they looked it up, and were happy to do it. 1 hour charged at $125 USD.

 

Redrider: I got mine from Jurgen Hermann Jaguar in Germany. I've finally worked out the kinks as I had to change out a couple of the resistors, increasing the ohm by 1, to stop the bulb out warning. e.g. They came with a 6.5 resistor and I replaced it with the exact same type 7.5 ohm resistor I got from Newark Resistors. If your good with a solder I say go for it! My original thread is on here somewhere.

Thanks for the info. I also installed the tail light kit but have had a bulb burn out and would like to get rid of those bulky bulb housing that came with the kit from ademesh. Can you tell me what Wattage the 7.5 Ohm resistor was that you got ? A part number would be good also if you have it.

I'm no electrician so have to ask how would I insert the resistor. Do I just cut the bulb housing wires then connect the negative and positive wires that were going to the bulb to each end of the resistor ??

I assume you would not just put electical tape over the resistor because of heat build up. How did you encase/protect the resistor?
