2007 XK Coupe
My car has adaptive headlights, but while looking around the car configuration file, the tech said the car isn't configured for them. Amusingly, the adaptive headlight control module appears to be independent of the configuration, as the headlights swivel as they should regardless.
It would stand to reason that the feature can be deactivated as well.

I think the only real difference is the xenon slow speed parking lights get replaced by the steering beams at low speeds. The mechanical guts are the same otherwise. I never understood why they chose to make it an option when the lamps all have the function built in.
The Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) swivel beams don't have enough angle for low speeds, so there's still a cornering lamp that comes on when turning slowly, same as for non-AFS cars. The 4.2 manual says the cornering lamp shuts off above 25 MPH; the 5.0 manual doesn't give a speed.
On 4.2 cars without AFS, the lamp is triggered by the turn signal; with AFS, it's steering angle. On 5.0 cars, it's always steering angle, with or without AFS.
