2007 xkr a/c leak fix
2007 xkr from a non jag dealer, was looking in the glove box and saw reciepts of the a/c been fixed, it had been done by a jag dealer, regased, new condenser and dried out. Got in contact with previous owner who said about the pipe came off. Will the problem return,. Saw a thread where man put pipe from under condensor through floor to prevent any more problems, its in the thread list

I think the thread you're talking about is where a drain was run from the evaporator through the floor to correct the plugged drain hose. I'm confused because I might have my nomenclature mixed up, I've always thought the box under the dash holds the evaporator, and the condenser is up by the radiator??? But I see in the other post he calls it the condenser. Sounds like in your case something else went wrong. But if it was fixed correctly by a Jag dealer, I can't imagine that problem would come back on its own.....You still "might" be looking at the plugged drain hose down the road.

Regardless if the shift lever is in D or S, as soon as you hit one of the paddles you will enter manual shift mode. If in D, you enter manual shift by using one of the paddles (you'll feel it shift and the display changes to 123456) and then continue to drive with no more paddle shifting ( minute or so, I'd have to look in the owners manual to get exact) It will revert back to auto mode (the display returns to PRND). If the shift lever is in S and you use a paddle to shift manually, it will remain in manual shift mode until you return the shift lever to D. "Better" is subjective. If I'm getting into a section of road where (as I have heard phrased on this forum) I will be driving "aggressively ", I have it in S and play with the gear selection manually. If I'm headdin down the freeway and want added engine breaking (just happen to get a glimps of Mr. CHP behind me and want to slow without showing my break lights) I give a couple quid tugs on the - paddle and let it go back into auto on its own, or flip the **** lever from D to S and back to D real quick to return it to auto.

From the manual:
If the gear selector remains in the D position, temporary manual mode will be held whilst the driver is accelerating, decelerating, cornering or continuing to request shifts via the paddles.
The transmission will revert to automatic operation after a short period of driving at steady speed; alternatively the shift-up (+) paddle may be held for a short period (approximately one second) to return directly to automatic operation in D.
