Default 2007 XKR Top not fully closing

I put in a new battery in my XKR. The first attempt to lower top it stopped after moving 2". Manually retracted then tried to operate with switch. Nothing. Closed the top manually. Tried to use switch to open nothing. Disconnected battery, sat overnight. Manually retracted again. Did window reset. Tried to close with switch, it worked fine up until final 4", did not reach full position, saw the latches try to grasp and that is where I am at. Any ideas on what to do next?

One suggestion, often posted by WhiteXKR (the unofficial expert on these tops), is to hold the button, either going up or going down, for a long time (maybe a minute), to see if it will complete the cycle.
Any messages on your dash?

You need to reset your front windows after the battery change for the top to work correctly. Sometimes you need to do it 2 or 3 times before it 'takes'.

Hi, when ours got to that point I had to manually wind those header latches back to the released position, then powered it to the fully opened position (when the sliding plastic piece decided to screw up).. With the next closing cycle it finally latched..
And yes, with Steve's advice the windows were reset and reset.. although the pass side has often gone auto up and then auto reversed immediately without upsetting the top op'n.
Good luck
