my 2008 XK, base, non adaptive...
I want to adjust the beam direction of my HLs. I can adjust up and down but the L - R does not occur while turning the hex 'adjuster' on the top (center) of either assembly. What am I missing? and how can I adjust L - R?

Well,
Out of caution I pulled one light assembly to see what makes things work. There is a threaded shaft and it was intact so I felt better about turning the hex drive more revolutions. Once re- installed I ended up turning the top/center adjuster 10 full rotations and achieved the desired positioning. It seems that toward the end of the adjustment shaft there is very little horizontal movement, hence my 1st impression that the light pattern was not affected by this 'adjustment' .

My bad and for those curious, yes there is l-r and u-d manual adjustment available for the non active light assemblies (early xk150).
