2010 XK vibration 1500 rpm
Hello, this is my first time ever on a forum so please bear with me. I am also brand new to the Jaguar experience. I have owned my used XK for about a year and have been monitoring a strange vibration pretty much since I acquired the vehicle. Under light exceleration at 1500-1700 rpm I am hearing and feeling a fairly low pitch humming. Seems to be coming from mid to rear of vehicle. Very consistent and easily reproduced. Any thoughts?
There's a lot of rubber bushes in the driveline and rear suspension. I suggest getting the vehicle up on a lift, removing the rear wheels and checking for anything loose or worn.
The thin exhaust heat shields can also tear through at the fixing bolts and setup an annoying periodic vibration.

I have that also. For about 2 years now. 2010 XK as well. I'm pretty sure it's exhaust vibration due to resonation at that RPM. I haven't yet got to troubleshoot as to where it is occurring but I'm almost positive it's not drive train or suspension. If you get it figured out, please post it back here!!
thanks

Me too, although the vibration is so subtle I can only feel it up through the bottom of the car and into my throttle foot. Took it in for dealer while under warranty, they couldn't find anything amiss.
I have resolved it by never being light on the throttle. I zip past the offending RPM with gusto.

Thanks so much for the thoughts! I was leaning toward resonance my self. Just doesn’t feel or sound mechanical does it? Kinda like a humming bird. Yes tampamark! I also avoid the issue with throttle diligence.
I have a 2010 xk I hear and sense this resonance during acceleration only from 38 mph to 58 mph then it is gone completely
Is the exhaust system the culprit??

Since you say on Acceleration, that would tend to make me wonder about the prop shaft/universal joints.
Cee Jay: thank you so much for responding. My tires are less than 500 miles old and they seem so much better than the Dunlap's that were on it. I had them balanced and they checked to cars alignment. I will look into the universal joint as you suggested. thanks again
