My title says it’s a 2010 XKR with a 5L V-8 supercharger but the manufacturer date on the car says March of 2009. Is this rare, usually it later like October before they call it the 2010. And the 2009 all had 4.2 L V-8. Just wanted to see if this meant anything! Thanks

Normal. The 5.0L cars started in the UK in 2009, but they take a slow boat to get across the pond and are 2010s when they get here.

What does the word "Year" mean? Prepare to be confused:
MYxxxx in software terms is equivalent to a release version number. It specifies the technology/features/options available with that model. It has a release date as well, but this doesn't have to be the same as the release version number and with cars is usually one number lower. There is no rule when a MY is released; it is simply when the update is ready. Big updates are released as soon as possible but yearly refreshes tend to be in the second half of the year to match general marketing cycles.
Smaller manufacturers, like Jaguar, might build two model years symultaneosuly to get rid of parts stock and offer dealers cars that they can sell off or lease at a lower price. My MY2011 was built in 12/2011. The MY2012 facelift was already being produced in 03/2011.
