Default 2010 XKR - air intake chip??

Hello. I bought a 2010 XKR back in September and after tracking down the prior owner, he stated that he put in a chip to increase the air intake to give it more horsepower. Does anyone know what that might be and how could I tell if the chip is still installed? Thanks.

Uhhhhhhhhhh, no?
It would have to be a smaller blower pulley, that certainly ain't no chip.
I think the seller was being fantastical with his description.

But....chips can do everything. Haha. No, I agree. Wasn’t anything I had heard of. Oh well, guess I’m stuck at 510 bhp.

Oh, there are things you can do alright, 550 hp is easy with a few basic steps. You just need the right tools.
And the right exhaust. Resonator delete with an X-pipe. Lots of threads on this. That'll get you started.

You can check your OBDII socket to see if anything is plugged in there.

There are transistors which can be installed to trick the ECM
which may result in more power but most likely slow down your 1/4 mile.

UK Wyld, best to get it dyno'd first so you've a base to work from, and then you can after each new Mod (if indeed you're think of going down that route)?

Yep. Non-linear feedback to the throttle. Half-throttle at the quarter throttle pedal position. A trick to the brain... more go with less foot. Course, the top 50% of accelerator pedal movement only increases the throttle maybe 15%.
Totally bullcrap product.

P.S. This OBDII plug-in device is not a custom ECU tune, and will not produce the advertised results. See Post #21 in this thread by Forum member Richzak:

I agree with CHECK THE OBD2 PORT like gkubrak just said. A previous owner may have purchased one of these things and left it in there.
