Help....convertable top is not responding to the switch. Battery did go flat recently. Tried to carry out manual reset however when I had this problem previously following flat battery the windows all lowered and roof started to work, initial lift at the front. Reset all ok. This time nothing is working. Windows not lowering, front latch release nothing happening. I have checked the 3 relevant fuses located in the rear seat fuse module, all ok. The rear compartment cover switch is fine and I have no messages on the dash. In summary it appears that the opp switch in the roof is not connected. However prior to the battery going flat all worked ok. Any thoughts please??? Thanks Chis.

Is your battery fully charged? Will it start if you turn on the high beams and then try to start it? If not, then have your battery load tested and recharge or replace it.

Hi Stuart, thanks for your reply. Battery replaced last year after my first issue. This time the boot was left open by the body shop which caused the battery drain. Since then I have recharged fully and also left on a conditioner for the past week. Starts well. Thanks.

Send a PM to Forum member WhiteXKR (Steve, the Jag Wrangler). He's the inventor of the remote control top and rear window controller and knows everything about the convertible top. He should be able to help you. And if you don't have his gadget, I highly recommend it. Search this Forum for testimonials. If I can install it, anyone can.

How did you charge the battery. I.e. did you connect directly connect to the battery and therefore remove the bar in the boot.
it could be that this hasn’t reseated properly and the system can’t detect that the hood stowage compartment is closed.

The connector is at the end of this bar and has been known before not to connect properly .
I am not sure if you get a message if this is the case.

Did the little metal clip on the Luggage Separator come off? It's a fairly common problem. It causes the vehicle to thing the separator is not installed. I think there are a couple threads on this.

What Cee Jay said.
Since you have accessed the battery the Luggage Separator would seem to be the first place to look, may just not set quite right.
