2010 XKR - Convertible top will not function
Budster, if it makes you feel better, know that you are not alone. Every X150 convertible owner has or will have experienced the "LUGGAGE COVER OUT OF POSITION" message. It's part of the ownership experience, just like looking in the garage every night before going to sleep.
If your TPMS warning light is solid yellow, it means that one or more tires is underinflated. If it's flashing, there's a fault. TPMS batteries typically last around 7 years, and they're not replaceable. It may be time for new wheel sensors (transmitters) for your 2010 XKR. Any tire shop should be able to check those transmitters for free. If one has a low battery, replace all four.
You may want to try this first: over inflate all 4 tires to 45 lbs, drive around for 20 minutes, and park the car for the night. In the morning, before you start the engine, reduce the pressures to the recommended pressures on the door jamb. That might stop the TPMS warning light.
