Default 2011 jaguar xkr seats leather back side panel and damaged

Forgive my lack of time to read every thread on a million subjects. I have searched and found nothing so here it goes.

my 2011 xkr when the front seats mechanically are pushed almost all the way back (and surely if pushed all the way back) rubs or has worn a hole in the side panel in back seat where it hits and stops causing a friction point. I hope to be describing this correctly as I’m not familiar with any other way. Just a driver not a car expert LOL.

any suggestions on the repair ? I simply have a heart attack with any seat movement and honestly don’t ask people who MIGHT be tight in cockpit to ride with me.

love this car but dang it has some major costly issues it seems. Leather dash bubbling, convertible top coming unglued and now this. Help my chest pain. Anyone ? Anyone ? Be safe out there. Have great day

Pictures posted for comments and hopefully solution options.

Drivers seat rub needs affordable repair option

Rub area passenger seat when fully back hits this area.

Same area different view as above

Drivers side back seat panel rubbed by drivers seat in fully extended position. Help

The seat bolster is an easy repair for a leather specialist- you would be looking at about £70 in the uk, or better still buy a DIY kit from furniture clinic in the UK- they have videos online to explain how to do everything- and will have a colour match for your leather. They are regarded as the UK's leading leather repair company. I'm sure they would send to the USA.
The rear 3/4 panels are different- I seem to recall they are a faux leather look- I might be wrong here- but replacement with used parts might be your best bet- they tend to be cheap as little demand for them.

Hi, most upholstery shops can handle this. But be sure to check their references. I agree with bigbaddog about trying to get used for the other. I might suggest you periodically reach behind the passenger seat and make sure there is a little space to avoid that rub. I typically put the seat back as far as it goes and don't let anyone touch that dial. The same with the driver seat. Lastly, the way you get into fine cars like ours is not to slide down that inner bolster. You sit down sideways and like a women with a dress on you swing your legs around to the from. I taught my kids that at an early age, it seems everyone wants to slide down the banister. Best of luck.

thank you for the feedback. The front seat unfortunately was like that when I bought it from a larger gent. I’m a 5’1 100 lb female but since working on every surface lately I figured would try to correct that too. This forum has saved me from running to sell my beautiful beast so many thanks

+1 to leather dye for repairing the scuff.

See my post #3 in this thread:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...esolved-80080/

Photos 5 and 6 show the "before" and "after" on my scuffed X308 driver's seat. I used Furniture Clinic products but other members have used Leatherique. Both have been used by many members and neither have had any bad reports.

Unfortunately, I think you are going to have to live with the panel damage as there is no similar easy fix.

My local Aston dealer has a vendor that comes to their dealership as requested and service manager says they do amazing work. I'd imagine that same kind of service is in your locale.

The "leather" on the back panels is real low quality compared to the high use areas. I wish they had used the same quality hides everywhere on the car.
