Default 2011 XK Air filter change question

Can you change the air filters by just turning the wheels in, or do the wheels really need to come off? Reminds me of my Subaru... need to pull off the bumper cover to change headlight bulbs.

I recall seeing a thread here where the poster said it could be done, but a real tight squeeze.
Personally I found it to be a pain in the **** even with the wheel off.

I did my 07 without taking the wheel off. It's kind of tight, but not impossible. No special tools required.

I didn't have a problem changing both of mine. I tried both turn-in and turn-out and one was a bit easier, but I can't remember which. The whole deal took maybe fifteen minutes for both. Nine minutes for the first one, six for the second one.

Just to add, stick with OEM air filters...
