Just picked up my 2011 XKR a couple of weeks ago
in Germany and was wondering how many XKRs are
produced each year.

Up until 2010

 

So it looks like that a lot less 5.0 Xkrs have been produced
before the facelift in 2012 than Aston Martin DB9's in the
same 2 years.

 

Not sure this helps answer your question since its not worldwide production, but I got this information from the folks at "jaguarlandrover.com" when I had questions about my own car. I emailed them and they responded the same day.

"There are exactly 500 units of 2011 XKR Convertibles produced and 472 units of XKR Coupe produced for a total of 972 units for the US."

In 2010, there were only 2,137 XK's delivered in the US total. 2011 was slightly lower from what I can gather. Assume half of those were coupes and half convertibles. Probably 75% of the cars were XK's versus XKR's. So I would venture that there were about 250 XKR Coupes and 250 XKR verts made each year for US delivery.

 

Only 1,738 XK's produced in 2011. Any way you slice it, the XK is a rare car. Averages to only 35 cars per state per year. 17 coupes and 17 convertibles.

The number of cars produced and the number of cars sold could be different.

However, when a USA brand car company like GM, Ford, Chrysler delivers a car to the dealership they are considered as SOLD. I am not sure that Jaguar does the same, but would assume so.
