Default 2011 XKR - Recommended Maintenance

I can't seem to find any information about recommended maintenance for my XKR. Jag USA said it's in the owner's manual but it's not.
It has only 11,000 miles on it and when I took it in for it's annual oil change, the dealer recommended the following:

- Perform air induction system service
- Replace Air Filter Element
- Replace Cabin Filter/HEPA Micro Filter
- Four Wheel Alignment
- Perform Fuel Injection Service

Although the vehicle is now 7 years old, the mileage is really low and I wonder if all these things need to be done or if the dealer is trying to make some extra money.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard. How long have you had your XKR? If it were mine and it was new to me, I would have the brake and coolant fluids flushed and replaced as well as having the oil changed. Others may suggest additional things, but I think the dealer has gone overboard.

Honestly the very best maintenance you can do for the poor car is drive it. Sitting for too long is what causes so many problems with these chassis, power trains and electronics. Should be driven ten miles at least once a week.

For the USA market, recommended maintenance is in the Passport to Service handbook. This is a generic document covering all models. Here's the relevant pages for the XK 5.0 litre:

Here in the UK maintenance records have gone fully electronic - Jaguar OSH (Online Service History). All the service history and maintenance schedule details for my 2014 XK are online. Available anytime and can be printed off as required.

Interesting that spark plug replacement has a time interval. I wouldn't think a 7 yr old spark plug with 50k miles would need to be replaced just because it's 7 yrs old.

Makes no sense to me either. I can logic away all of the other items but that one has got me. Maybe just a CYA?

Plug are just sitting there when the engine is off. No duty or stress unlike the tires.

It would interesting to hear Jaguar's engineering argument for that specification. I'm thinking it really has only to do with sales through service.

Unless you know the work has been done, I would change the fluids, Oil, Brake and Coolant. Chicago streets are horrid, so the four wheel alignment is probably due. Now drive like you stole it before the snow flies.

I bought the car in 2013 with 1,300 miles on it. I live in the Chicago area so it doesn't get driven in the Winter.

It might have something to do with emissions. Or concerns about stuck/cracked plugs??

Other manufacturers do it to, like Subaru- put a time limit.
