3rd Brake light
Hi all
My rear 3rd brake light has stopped working. The only related thing that happened was when I opened the boot in my garage it hit the inside of the raised garage door, would this stop it working, theres no marks on the red lense or anything. I understand there is no fuse for these. Could the slight bump make it stop working? I have no warning lights. I did google and removed the negative battery terminal for 30 seconds but didnt solve the issue.
Are there any other reasons the 3rd lamp sttops working? Any ideas please?
I have removed the lamp and ordered a replacement although they are not cheap for a used one just in case I need one.

A search of this site shows many have experienced “finished or burnt” LEDs.
I would start with a check to ensure the connector is in fact firmly connected as you mentioned there was a mild bump…

I had a diode blow in my CHMSL, I found the PCB, replaced that one diode, and it still works now nearly ten years later.
Of course I don't know if a jarring would cause that, but who knows...
