Advise needed for removing rear plinth

Default Advise needed for removing rear plinth

I’m in the process of installing a wired rear back up camera. I need to remove the rear plinth above the license plate.. I’ve tried unbolting all visible bolts but it still will not budge. I don’t want to break anything. Any ideas?

assuming you have all the screws out including the ones behind lights, there is double sided tape that helps hold it in place...

Use some dental floss to cut through the double sided tape.

I didn't remove the plinth when I installed my non-OEM camera. I drilled a hole through it near the release button and finagled the nut onto the inside through the inside of the deck lid. Probably took about four tries to get it on there right and tight.

Thanks, I’ll do that. How did you route the wires up to the front of car? Underneath center console or through the side of the inside by the seats?

Up through where the RSJB is, under the rear center seat hump, then through the driver's side of the console. It tucked up nice and tight and has never peeked out since. Once I got it all tucked up there, I pulled it back and forth a couple times and it seemed totally free longitudinally , held up there by the console bottom edge.

I did like Cee Jay, just drilled up through the plinth and then continued through the trunk lid (be careful once you get through the plastic plinth, as the metal of the trunk lid will be at an angle, and you don't want the bit to wander and make the plastic hole too big).
The camera connected to my GVIF in the trunk. Any cables I needed to run for other stuff, I ran from the trunk through an opening to the passenger compartment on the upper right hand side of the rear seat back, then down under the rear seat and then under the center console to the front of the cabin.

Is that some JB-Weld I see in the mounting slots of the camera? Or probably more likely, Double-Sticky foam tape.

double sticky tape. If it comes loose I’ll use the screws
