Are all converts canvas tops
I was out the other day and caught up in a torrential downpour. No problems but it made me wonder if all of the X150 series converts had a canvas top or was there ever another material top offered. Also was the question of water beading . Did the factory top repel water . I know about the previous posts on top clean/coating but didn't know if the original new top repelled.

I think they're all canvas, but you can check the online OEM Jaguar parts websites by model year. If the part numbers are all the same for that color top, they never changed.
The OEM top is multi-layer. Mine never leaked but I recall that it didn't bead up like the vinyl top on my '60 Vette, so I treated it with 303 Fabric Guard. I think it beads up now, but I rarely drive it when rain is forecast.

Pretty sure they are all canvas. I had to have mine replaced because of a PO screw up on it but noticed the new top didn't bead water as well. Like Stuart, I used 303 on it a couple weeks ago and it beads very well now.
I think canvas beats vinyl for looks hands down eventhough they may require a little more maintenance.
